I run an informal group of mainly starting dog/handlers. I like the group approach as those outside the ring can actually see what's happening and talk about it. Any dog is welcome, though I reserve the right to stop those dogs that are truly hunting. Exposures and beginning lessons on stock work are primary focus. We meet almost every Sunday morning- except when Sugarbush Gap has events ( 3 times/yr) or the weather cancels us- but we are there in the winter
I have been running sheep for 17 yrs. I have limited trialing experience, but lots of dog experience. Am a Licensed Vet Tech that does behavior and teaches basic life skill to beginners. I run several other dogs in agility and live with a pack of dogs of various mentalities. I currently have 2 BC's in training.
Facilities and Stock - 60 ft round pen and 100 x 200 arena. There are also several larger fields for the more advanced handler/dogs. About 50 woolies and hair sheep including Zelda, the really dog broke, to flighty Cheviot. Something for every level of dog.
DIRECTIONS: Lounsberry Farm - conveniently located off NY Rt 79 between Slaterville Springs and Ithaca. Turn on to Lounsberry Rd and we're 0.6 miles up on the left - only llama and sheep on the road. I don't live there.
